{"id":1073,"date":"2006-12-08T19:54:00","date_gmt":"2006-12-09T03:54:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blog.gajunkie.com\/?p=1073"},"modified":"2016-04-04T10:31:41","modified_gmt":"2016-04-04T17:31:41","slug":"new-developments-in-mission-presbytery-over-controversial-church-membership","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blog.gajunkie.com\/?p=1073","title":{"rendered":"New developments in Mission Presbytery over controversial church membership"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>In a follow-up to a situation in <a href=\"http:\/\/www.mission-presbytery.org\/\" target=\"_blank\">Mission Presbytery<\/a> that <a href=\"https:\/\/blog.gajunkie.com\/?p=1115\">I commented on<\/a> back in September, Toby Brown, in his excellent blog &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/classicalpresbyterian.blogspot.com\" target=\"_blank\">A Classical Presbyterian<\/a>,&#8221; updates the situation where a declared atheist was admitted to membership in St. Andrews Church in Austin.&nbsp; The membership was challenged and Mission Presbytery voted to instruct St. Andrews about the standards for membership and to invalidate the specific membership.&nbsp; St. Andrews appealed to the Synod of the Sun PJC.<\/p>\n<p>Rev.
