More specifically it relates to the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.churchofscotland.org.uk\/__data\/assets\/pdf_file\/0014\/13811\/20_THEOLOGICAL_2013.pdf\" target=\"_blank\">report of the Theological Commission on Same-Sex Relationships and the Ministry<\/a>. It is an interesting read &#8212; I&#8217;m about half way through it and will blog on it later this week.&nbsp; But it generated a lot of media buzz so here are some of those headlines:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.churchofscotland.org.uk\/news_and_events\/news\/articles\/church_theological_report_published_today\">Church Theological Report Published<\/a> &#8211; Church of Scotland press release<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.scotsman.com\/lifestyle\/features\/the-church-of-scotland-debates-gay-ministers-1-2903856\">The Church of Scotland Debates Gay Ministers<\/a> &#8211; news story from scotsman.com<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.pinknews.co.uk\/2013\/04\/17\/liturgy-for-same-sex-marriages-published-by-church-of-scotland\/\">Liturgy for Same-Sex Blessings Published by Church of Scotland<\/a> &#8211; PinkNews article (yes, the liturgy is in the report as it was asked for in its remit)<\/li>\n<li><a target=\"_blank\" href=\"http:\/\/www.scotsman.com\/scotland-on-sunday\/church-of-scotland-faces-exodus-over-gay-clergy-1-2904009\">Church of Scotland Faces Exodus Over Gay Clergy<\/a> &#8211; news story from scotsman.com<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\nIn other news&#8230;<\/p>\n<p><b>Colleges and their ties to the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.)<\/b><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/davidsonnews.net\/blog\/2013\/04\/17\/davidson-trustees-study-but-stop-short-of-relaxing-church-connection\/\" target=\"_blank\">Davidson Trustees Study, but Stop Short of Relaxing Church Connections<\/a> &#8211; college press release. After a year of study the trustees have affirmed the current relationship with the PC(USA). They will keep their rare requirement that the college&#8217;s president be a Presbyterian. There is also a <a href=\"http:\/\/davidsonnews.net\/blog\/2013\/04\/19\/petition-protests-trustee-decision-on-by-laws\/\" target=\"_blank\">college press release<\/a> about a petition to change that requirement.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/blog.christianitytoday.com\/ctliveblog\/archives\/2013\/04\/whitworth-university-exclusive-partnership-pcusa-presbyterians.html\" target=\"_blank\">Whitworth University Ends Exclusive 123-Year Partnership with PC(USA)<\/a> &#8211; Christianity Today article. The university will be able to develop ties with other Churches of Christ.<\/p>\n<p>\n<b><a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsletter.co.uk\/life\/churches\/presbyterian-church-appoints-new-clerk-1-5021946\" target=\"_blank\">Presbyterian Church Appoints New Clerk<\/a><\/b> &#8211; from the News Letter<br \/>\nThe lede to the article: &#8220;The general board of the Presbyterian Church in Ireland has agreed to<br \/>\nthe  nomination of the Rev Trevor Gribben as the next Clerk of the<br \/>\nGeneral Assembly.&#8221;<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Well the buzz of the week was from the Church of Scotland and was related to the release of the Reports for the upcoming General Assembly.
