\nAnother week on the quiet side in my news stream, and the couple of active items that were there are “works in progress” that I will defer to the next round when there should be something more to report than “the committee is thinking about it.”<\/p>\n

So to begin with, a few items from churches in Africa:<\/p>\n

\nMalawi: Domasi CCAP Advises Faithful to Vote<\/a><\/b> – from allAfrica.com; “Domasi Presbytery of CCAP Blantyre Synod has called on all its faithful
\nthat registered for the 2014 Tripartite Elections to exercise their
\nrights and responsibilities by voting for leaders of their choice.”<\/p>\n

M\u2019mbelwa roasts Livingstonia Synod over Kanyika mine<\/a><\/b> – from Nyasa Times; “M\u2019mbelwa district council on Monday took a swipe at  CCAP Livingstonia
\nChurch and Society for frustrating the mining of niobium at Kanyika mine
\nin Mzimba.”<\/p>\n

Presbyterian University College Council inaugurated<\/a><\/b> – from Ghana News Agency; “The
\nRight-Reverend Professor Emmanuel Martey, Moderator of the General Assembly of
\nthe Presbyterian Church of Ghana, has inaugurated the 5th Presbyterian
\nUniversity College Council at Akropong.”\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nA couple of notes from the Church of Scotland:<\/p>\n

Church of Scotland proposes changing religious observance in schools to ‘time for reflection’<\/a><\/b> – from Christian Today; “The Church of Scotland has proposed changing religious observance to a ‘time for reflection’. The Kirk said a time for reflection in schools would help shift the
\ndebate about religious observance in schools from an argument between
\nopposing views to learning together.”\n<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\nAnd finally from the PC(USA) and the Presbytery of Chicago:<\/p>\n
